The Goat Farm
The Goat farm is an artist community that has existed in West Atlanta since the 1970s but the buildings themselves have been there since the 1820s. In 2018 they announced the facility was going to be redesigned and many of the 11 buildings were going to be demolished and everyone had to move out. High taxes and the increase in popularity to the area means the location is being redesigned to be repurposed as apartments, galleries, shops, and restaurants. I spent 2019 documenting artists and their spaces, as well I sat down and interviewed John the maintenance man who has looked over the 12 acres for more than 20 years. I have continued documenting the changes as the property transforms.
